The representation of Germany, composed of Richard Freitag, Andreas Wellinger, Andreas Wank and Severin Freund won the very first team competition of the season. Their battle for the victory with the Slovenians was absolutely stunning!

The competition began with 11 teams on the start, but already since trainings it was clear that for the team victory there are only 4 serious candidates – Slovenia, Norway, Austria and Germany, who hosted the event.

In the first round, already from the first jump of 16-year-old Domen Prevc, on the lead was Slovenia. Great jumps of Domen (132,5m) and Peter Prevc (139m) , Jurij Tepes (135,5m) and Anze Lanisek (130m) gave their team a safe advantage ahead of Germany. After the first round they had 13.5 points more than the Germans, even if proteges of Werner Schuster gave also amazing jumps. Both Andreas Wellinger and Andreas Wank gave good jumps of 128,5 meters, while Richard Freitag jumped 132,5 meters and the team leader Severin Freund flew on 138 meter! On the third place after the first part of the competition were the Austrians. The best among them was Stefan Kraft with 131,5 meters, but the whole team did a great job - Michael Hayböck jumped 128 meters, Manuel Fettner 126 meters and Gregor Schlierenzauer jumped 125 meters. In the final round we could also see Japan, Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland and Finland.

In the final round the Germans did everything they could to win the home competition. And thanks to their improved jumps they eventually reached for the victory! Andreas Wellinger jumped 130 meters, Andreas Wank 128,5m, Severin Freund 136 meters and Richard Freitag gave the longest jump of the round by landing on 138 meter. Slovenia fell on the second place, but still all of the representatives can be proud of themselves. Domen Prevc couldn't dream of better World Cup debut - in the second round he jumped 132 meters and definitely found himself in the individual top of the competition. The rest of the team also jumped well, but comparing to the first round they jumped a little bit shorter. Jurij Tepes 127,5 meters, Anze Lanisek 128,5 meters and Peter Prevc 132 meters. Third place secured Austria with a total of 934.2 points and just behind the podium placed Japan with 906.5 points.

Unfortunately the competition ended badly for the Norwegians, who didn't make it to the final round because of the disqualification of Anders Fannemel. The same thing happened to the Russians, who were looking forwards to the final round, but the last jumper of the team, Evgeniy Klimov, also was disqualified. In the both cases the reason of the disqualification was an irregular suit. But both of them will have a chance to show their skills in tomorrow's individual event!
