The Championships in France, Finland, Russia and Norway are behind us!

This week, despite the fact that the World Cup season is already behind us, was full of highest sport emotions. The national championships were held in few countries like Poland, Norway, Finland, France or Russia. We would like to introduce you the new champions.

As first the national championships in ski jumping were held in Poland - we talked about it in our previous articles, which you can find here - [LINK] and here - [LINK]. Let's remind that the individual champion became Kamil Stoch and the team champion the team of AZS Zakopane.

Then the rivalry moved to north, where for the national titles fought the Finnish ski jumpers. On Sarturday on the large hill in Kuusamo (HS 142) the new champion became Jarkko Määttä, who absolutely dominated the competition, reaching 127 and 142 meters and achieving over 40 points of advantage ahead of the other jumpers. Silver in this competition went to Lauri Asikainen, who jumped 112 and 135 meters and the bronze medal won Janne Ahonen, who jumped on 109 and 133,5 meters. In the same time the championships were held also in Russia. On Friday the individual titles won Denis Kornilov and Sofya Tichonova. In the men's competition on the normal hill HS 106 in Chaykovsky the best turned out to be Kornilov, who reached 105,5 and 96 meters. 4,5 point behind him was ranked Dimitry Vassiliev with jumps of 99 and 102,5 meters. The bronze medal surprisingly won almost 20-year-old Aleksandr Bazhenov, who reached 101 and 98,5 meters. Just behind the podium the competition finished Mikhail Maksimochkin with jumps of 102 and 96,5 meters, Anton Kalinitschenko, who reached 98 and 99,5 meters and Roman Trofimov, with 106 and 89 meters.

Among the ladies the best was 17-year-old Sofya Tikhonova, who jumped 100,5 and 94 meters and overtook Irina Avvakumova with 96,5 and 95,5 meters and Anastasiya Gladysheva, who reached 83 and 94,5 meters. Additionally on Saturday was held the mixed team competition in which the best turned out to be the team of Saint Petersburg in the composition of Maria Yakovleva, Aleksei Romashov, Sofya Tichonova and Vladislav Boyarintsev, which won the champion title with the total score of 825,5 points. The silver medal won the team of Nizhny Novgorod in the composition of Natalia Solovyova, Mikhail Maksimochkin, Maria Zotova and Denis Kornilov. The silver medalists reached together the score of 766,5 point. The bronze medal won the team of the Perm Region in the composition of Glafira Noskov, Artem Utev, Anastasia Gladysheva and Yegor Usachev. The bronze team collected 740,5 points. The nationals were held also in Norway, where yesterday on the normal hill HS 100 in Heddal competed ladies and men. Among the male ski jumpers the best turned out to be Rune Velta, who has really amazing winter season behind him. In the championship competition he reached 97 and 99 and he achieved the victory with 13,5-point advantage ahead of Kenneth Gangnes, who jumped 96,5 and 97 meters and won the silver medal. The bronze medal went to Tom Hilde, who jumped 97 and 94 meters. Just behind the podium placed Phillip Sjøen, who flew twice farthest - in the first round he landed on 105 meter, but unfortunalely with crash, and in the second round he achieved 102 meters. In the Top 5 of the competiton placed also Daniel-Andre Tande with jumps of 97 and 93,5 meters. In the competition didn't start Anders Fannemel, Anders Jacobsen and Andres Bardal, who finished his proffesional career.

Among the ladies the best was Maren Lundby, who jumped 103,5 and 93,5 meters. The silver medal won Line Jahr with jumps of 100,5 and 90,5 meters and the bronze medal went to titled Anette Sagen, who officially ended her sport career. Yesterday she reached 97 and 92 meter. In the top of the competition placed also Gyda Enger with jumps of 91 and 92 meters and Anna Odine Strøm with 89 and 87,5 meters.

Yesterday on the hill HS 118 in Chaux Neuve were held the French championships. Among the men the best turned out to be Vincent Descombes Sevoie, who won ahead of Paul Brasme and Nicolas Mayer. The new champion achieved the distances of 120,5 and 111,5 meters and for 2,4 points overtook 17-year-old Paul Brasme, who achieved 113 and 118,5 meters. The bronze medal went to Nicolas Mayer who jumped 113 and 117 meters. Just behind the podium the competition finished representative of Switzerland Gabriel Karlen, who jumped 114 and 112,5 meters, 5th position took the nordic combined skier Maxime Lahuerte with jumps of 116 and 112 meters, and on the sixth and seventh positions were ranked cousins Ronan and Jason Lamy-Chappuis, who jumped 109,5 and 114,5 meters and 108,5 and 111 meters. Jason Lamy-Chappuis decided to end his successful career in the Nordic combined after this season. In the Top 10 of the competition placed also Tobias Bichler with two jumps of 108,5 meters, Francois Braud, who reached 109 and 108 meters and Noeli Revilliod Blanchard, who jumped 106 and 110 meters. Among the ladies the best turned out to be Coline Mattel, who won the gold medal thanks to jumps of 109 and 106,5 meters. The silver medal went to Lea Lemare, who jumped 103 and 103,5 meters, and the bronze medal won Julia Clair with jumps of 96,5 and 102,5 meters. In the ladies' competition started only 6 athletes - 4th place took the representative of Switzerland Sabrina Windmuller with jumps of 92,5 and 96 meters, 5th was Oceane Avocat Gros with jumps of 77 and 82,5 meters and 6th was Marie Hoyau with 65 and 66 meters.
