Jarkko Määttä is new Finnish Champion! The Finnish Championships in Nordic Skiing taking place at the Rukatunturi in Ruka/Kuusamo this weekend. 38 competitors started to claim the victory and call themselves Finnish Skijumping Champion.
The large hill title goes to the 20 year old Jarkko Määttä who starts for Kainuun Hiihtoseura.

With 127m and 147m and 304 points he outpaced Lauri Asikainen who showed jumps on 112.5m and 135m by 43.6! points. The third place goes to Janne Ahonen who jumped 109 m and 133.5m. After just being on the 11th place after the first round the great second round let him climb on the podium.
On the fourth place finished Antti Aalto who was second after the first round with a jump on 130m. 117m in the second round were not good enough to hold the podium position. Behind Aalto, Niko Kytösaho from Lahti came in fifth. He jumped 115.5m and 117m and earned 233.8 points. 5.6 points behind his club made from Lahden Hiihtoseura Sebastian Klinga finished sixth. His widths were 115m and 115.5m. Weltcup comebacker Harri Olli from Rovaniemi became seventh with jumps on 108m and 126m. The top 10 was completed by Sami Heiskanen (123m, 116m), Anselmi Ilola (125m, 108m) and Ossi-Pekka Valta (117m, 110m).
