Slovenia’s Peter Prevc once again proved how amazing and outstanding ski jumper he is. In the first round he broke the 10-year-old Romoeren’s hill record by setting it on 248,5 meter (which is the result only 3 meters weaker than the world record) and in the final round after the jump of he got the judges note all ski jumpers are dreaming about – 5x20!

That was well deserved victory. 23-year-old Prevc in front of a huge crowd of Slovenian fans, which mainly came to support him, performed superbly in every detail. In the first round Slovene jumped 248,5 meter and set the new record of the Letalnica hill - the previous one was the result achieved by Norwegian Bjoern Einar Romoeren, who in 2005 set the world record in Planica by jumping 239 meters. Even if Prevc didn't manage to jump as far in the second round, his second jump in this competition was just a feast for the eyes of the ski jumping fans, no matter who are they supporting. This jump really couldn't be not appreciated. Prevc landed on 233 meter with style everyone would like to watch everyday. The beauty of this jump prized also the judges, by giving him note 5 times 20, which is the highest possible judges note and dream of every ski jumper.
"I'm speechless. This is one of the best days of my life. In both jumps I get my maximum level - and that was what I wanted." - Prevc said afterwards.
But the Slovenian fans had few more reasons to be happy in the World Happiness Day. The second place, over 16 points behind Prevc, took his teammate Jurij Tepes, who reached in amazing style distances of 223 meters (3x19,5 and 2x20 points) and 233 meters (2x19,5 and 3x20 points) and eventually finished 0,1 point ahead of Austria's Stefan Kraft, who landed on 240 and 238,5 meter. That was a really good day for the whole Slovenian team, because in the Top 10 found himself also Anze Semenic with jumps of 229,5 and 212 meters, and the good positions took also the other jumpers - Robert Kranjec was 11th (204,5 and 222m), 16th was Jernej Damjan (212 and 210,5m) and 26th position took Nejc Dezman (218,5 and 191,5m).
Just behind the podium today's cometition finished the current leader of the World Cup overall ranking Severin Freund, who jumped 223 and 230,5 meters. In the Top 10 were classified also Noriaki Kasai (217 and 229,5m), Rune Velta (220 and 222m), Michael Hayboeck (242 and 225m), Kamil Stoch (228,5 and 212,5m), Johann Andre Forfang (211,5 and 216m) and mentioned earlier Anze Semenic.
Due to today's results Freund's point advantage ahead of Prevc dropped to 44 points, so the battle for the final victory in the World Cup is still open. If Prevc will win Sunday's competition, Freund to get the Crystal Globe will have to take at least third place.
But before the final competition of the season will be held, the last team competition awaits us. It is schedulet for tomorrow at 10 am CET.
