The nordic weekend has started yesterday, in Lahti (Lahti will be the hosting country of the next NSWC in 2017) with Anders Jacobsen winner of the qualifying round, ahead of Piotr Zyla of Poland and Daiki Ito of Japan.

A sort of confirmation this for Norway, after becoming the new world champion in Falun the past week. Today was a different story, the World championships are over and the season is on the verge to end at the end of the month (i know i know how are you all feeling at this thought,so do i).
The question today was, “Would Germany strike back from the Falun defeat?” “Will Norway continue their winning streak?” for all of these questions we had to wait the end of the competition.
Norway, has answered to this question with a very powerful competition, confirming themselves after the gold medal won in Falun at the recent world championships, and finishing the race ahead of Germany (1040.2 pts),with 1069.1 points,28.9 points of advantage over the germans. Meanwhile for Germany, which has came second today, defended their position very well, with some solid performances, by Freund. The only pity was the last jump of Eisenbichler,on his landing the german almost fell and touch the ground, otherwise the points distance between Norway and Germany would have been less.
Japan of Noriaki Kasai have jumped on the 3rd place of the podium, beating the bronze medalist in Falun, Poland. The japanese have closed the day with a final score 1031.7 points, not too far from the germans. It still amaze me how Kasai at his tender age of almost 43, keeps rocking the hills so badly.I really hope he can carry on as longer as he can, and finally get the gold medal which this young man deserve.
The weekend in Lahti isn’t over yet, tomorrow will be men competition.
