Severin Freund is the new world champion from the LH at this year's NSWC in Falun 2015 Severin Freund has become today the new world champion, from the large hill in Falun at the Nord ski world championship. He has succeeded to Kamil Stoch of Poland, as the new champion.
Freund have won the gold, with a final score of 268.7 points, leaving behind a reborn Gregor Schlierenzauer, which has won the silver medal today and scored 246.4 points. Rune Velta, which is already world champion from the NH, and silver medal in the MT event, has finished 3rd today winning the bronze, with 249.2 points in total. Anders Bardal which was 2nd after the first round has ended at 6th place, behind Prevc (4th), Kraft (5th).Both Freund and Velta could now have the chance to win four different medals in four different competitions, the colour of the medal will be decided on Sunday when the team event will take place, and we will find out who is going to be the winner, before to come back at World Cup matters. Freund has in the past few weeks shown a great form and there are big chances that the german might win the overall world cup, at the end of the next month in Planica.With the likes of Prevc- current world cup leader- and Kraft to have now a new, -and in a very good shape- contender to face.
