Two Germans on the top of the qualification Even the wind conditions didn’t stop the ski jumpers from taking off the Lugnet hill in Falun, Sweden. The jury was postponing the qualification and finally the quali took place at 6.30pm.

The first two positions on the top belong to the German team, exactly Richard Freitag and Markus Eisenbichler. The third place was occupied by Japanese Taku Takeuchi. One hundred and twenty nine meters were enough to win the whole qualification round. This close victory belongs to Richard Freitag from Germany - but he’s not the only one who makes the coach Werner Schuster pride. Markus Eisenbichler jumped a half meter less and he ranked second. The third position belongs to Taku Takeuchi from Japan. He deserved it because of his jump 127.5 meters long.

When we look at the fourth position, we can see there two red-white flags: Austrian Manuel Poppinger (126m) and Pole Klemens Murańka (125.5m) both got 117.4 points. The 6th place belongs to Japanese Daiki Ito (130m), seventh was Finn Jarkko Määttä, which jumped 125 meters. Because of the 122 meters, Piotr Żyla ranked 8. The best Slovenian result (if we don’t count the prequalified Peter Prevc) was the ninth place by Nejc Dežman (124m); Johann Andre Forfang (123m) closes the TOP 10.

This round was a success e.g. for 17th Bulgarian Vladimir Zografski (120m), 18th Davide Bresadola (121,5m) from Italy, Frenchman Ronan Lamy Chappuis (117.5m) on the 23rd place or Seou Choi (119,5m) from Korea.

The satisfaction should be felt by the coach Martin Künzle: his jumpers Killian Peier (113m; 31st place) and Luca Egloff (111.5m; 34th place) will take part in the competition plus Simon Ammann (11th) jumped 130.5 meters, which was the best distance made by non-prequalified jumper.

On the large hill (HS 134; K-Point 120m) will tomorrow perform some old matadors like Noriaki Kasai, Janne Ahonen, Simon Ammann or Jakub Janda; but we will also see some ski jumping rookies like Martti Nomme from Estonia, Michael Glasder from the United States or Sabirzhan Muminov from Kazachstan.

So turn your “telly” on at 5pm, because we will see the World Championship in Falun, Sweden!
