Representative of Germany and the Olympic Champion from Sochi Carina Vogt once again wrote her name with the gold letters on the pages of the history of the ladies' ski jumping. 23-year-old athlete with two very good jumps of 91,5 and 92 meters won her first in career World Champion title.

Let's come back for a moment to 2014. Nobody expected that young German, who didn't even achieved a World Cup victory will become the first in the history Olympic Champion. Now the story repeated itself.
From the beginning of the "championship fever" Carina Vogt was considered as the favorite for the world championship medal. But everything seemed that the main battle for the gold will be held between experience and youth - Daniela Iraschko-Stolz and Sara Takanashi. Everything changed with the first jumps of the competition.
Sara Takanashi jumped 90 meters in bad style and it gave her only 9th position, so she automatically ceased to count in the battle for victory. In the first round it became clear that for the gold will fight two athletes - Iraschko-Stolz and Vogt.
In the first round better was the Austrian, who reached the distance of 92,5 meters and the German placed 3.7 points behind her with result of 91,5 meters. But in the final round the roles reversed - Vogt reached 92 meters while Iraschko-Stolz only 89 meters and eventually the German won her very first in career World Champion title, while the World Champion from Oslo 2011 finished 3rd.
Two excellent jumping athletes on the podium were separated by 20-year-old Japanese Yuki Ito, who surprisingly won the silver medal for her country with jumps of 89 and 93 meters. The second distance - 93 meters - became the new record of the hill and the same distance reached in the second round her compatriot Sara Takanashi, who thanks to this length moved from 9th to 4th position and eventually reached the same results like in Sochi and that means that once again the double overall World Cup winner comes back from the prestigious event without individual medal.
On the fifth place was ranked the winner of the qualification round, Canadian Taylor Henrich, who after jump of 90,5 meters was ranked 3rd, but despite appearances a half a meter better jump in the final round meant that she did not defend her position. 6th place belonged to the defending champion from Val di Fiemme Sarah Hendrickson, who flew on a distance of 87 and 91 meters. Seventh place went to Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (89 and 90.5 meters), eighth in her championship debut was Eva Pinkelnig (89 and 89.5 meters), and the Top 10 closed Jessica Jerome (86.5 and 90.5 meters) and Å pela Rogelj (87 and 88.5 meters).
Even if it's the end of the individual adventure with the World Championships for the ladies, they will have a chance to fight for a medal also on the mixed team competition, which will be held on Sunday.
