After the gold and bronze medals won two days ago, by Johann Andre Forgang and Philip Sjoen, Norway leave Almaty with a huge smile on their faces, after they been crowned world juniors champions.
Norway ended the day with a good score, 553.2 beating Germany (Silver) by 16.1 pts. The bronze medal instead went to Austria, with a final score 525.4
These WC’s have been painted by the Norwegian colors and we are sure that Alex Stoeckl is more than pleased about this great result.
It is good for the entire movement, because it means that the path taken by the Austrian, is the right one. Just like Werner Schuster did with Germany, taking them to win the gold medal in Sochi last year. The progress have been made since the first year of Stoeckl in charge of the Norwegian national team. The good thing about this juniors is that most of these guys have already made their own debut in the World Cup. Wellinger was the biggest names at the championships. He is part of the German national A team, and after the injury on his shoulder, we can say that he is fit again, and ready to give battle. The likes of Sjoen and J.A.Forfang have also taken part to the World Cup races, with Sjoen being the most “experienced” so far in the major circuit. Let’s not forget that in the morning, (our morning) also the ladies team event have taken place. Germany won the gold medal with 766.7 pts, and saw their girls to succeed, finishing ahead of Russia (Silver with 722.5 pts) and Japan (bronze with 692.0 pts).

Now the most interesting question, is who we will continue to see and shine in the world cup races. Who would you like to make it in the world cup other than the big names, which have taken part at this year Juniors World Championships?
