Team Slovenia owns Willingen

The Team Event in Willingen was a Slovenian affair.

Peter Prevc led his teammates Jurij Tepeš, Jernej Damjan and Nejc Dezman to the top of the field with a total score of 957.9 points. Jurij Tepes won his group twice, while also Jernej Damjan (143.5m) and Peter Prevc (144.5m) showed stunning performances. The quartet edged the German hometown heroes, with two jumps over the 140m mark for Severin Freund and a 147.5m-jump set by Richard Freitag. A solid Marinus Kraus and a struggling Markus Eisenbichler completed the line-up.

An interesting performance was shown by the Norwegian armada, who became 3rd in the end: Anders Fannemel covered a stunning 151.5m jump -only 0.5m below the hill record, Rune Velta was let down by the tailwind -which cost the second place in the end, Anders Jacobsen put two solid jumps and a "foggy" Tom Hilde was the weak link of the chain. With Japan, who could set good jumps by Kento Sakuyama and Noriaki Kasai, and Austra down the podium (today's weak tries came from Gregor Schlierenzauer and Michael Hayböck), Czech Republic took the final 6th place ahead of the Russian Federation and Italy. Team Italy overtook the Swiss (consisting of Gregor Deschwanden, Pascal Egloff, Pascal Kaelin and Gabriel Karlen) and Finnish team (the only good jumps came from Janna Ahonen) and entered the final round, as one of today's highlights is the disqualification of Kamil Stoch (due to an irregular suit), which prevented the Polish team to reach the second round.
