Sapporo Day 2: Sjøen wins ahead of Rhoads and Gangnes!

Philipp Sjøen celebrates his first COC victory within the second competition in Sapporo. Beeing fourth after the first round a jump on 141.5m catapulted him on the first place. 24 points behind the Norwegian William Rhoads from the USA achieved his best result ever. After he leaded the tableau surprisingly after the first round with a really strong jump on 135m, 126m in the second round let him finish second. Kenneth Gangnes from Norway who was second in the first competition now finished third with jumps on 125m and 132m.

Behind the podium two Austrians came in fourth and fifth. Clemens Aigner, who jumped on the podium the day before missed it out with just 1.8 points. His team mate Manuel Poppinger ended up on the fifth place.

With 135.5m Anze Lanisek could climb from the 20th place to 6th. And also Ville Larinto on the 7th place made a huge step in the second round as he was 22snd after the first.

The best Japanese of the day was Yukiya Sato on the 8th place which was his second Top 10 result in the COC ever, the first one was on the same day on year ago also in Sapporo.

The 16 year old Czech Frantisek Holik on the 9th place could celebrate his best result today. Florian Altenburger from Austria completed the Top 10.

For the Germans it was not the best day of the season. Daniel Wenig on 16th and Olympic Champion Andreas Wank on 23rd were the only two in the second round. For the US-Team besides William Rhoads on the podium Anders Johnson collected COC-Points. The Dutch Lars Antonissen is having the best weekend in his career so far after finishing 29th in the first competition he could improve and finished 25th in the second.

Also Nico Ploychronidis who is representing Greece has a reason to smile today as he finished 29th and made his first Top 30 result of the season.

The Swedish Christian Inngjerdingen made his best career result with the 30th place.
