Tom Hilde wins Continental-Cup in Engelberg

In a tough competition that had to be rescheduled due to the weather conditions and therefore started after 14:00, Norwegian Tom Hilde, who recently suffered from a bad shape and the news to not be part of the Four-Hills-Tournament took home the victory.
Hilde's jumps of 131m and 128m (262.1points) on the K125 made him clear winner ahead of Slovenian Miran Zupancic (126.5/132m; 258.1pts) and his teammate Rok Justin, who performed 121m and 131.5m (245pts).
Also the rest of the top ten was dominated mainly by Norwegians with Andreas Stjernen being fourth (126/134m), Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng seventh (123.5/127m) and Kenneth Gangnes finishing as tenth (122/121m).
Best German was Danny Queck on rank eleven, while Poland could place Bartlomiej Klusek on the fifth rank with 134m and 131m. Finland's best man was Sebastian Klinga on place eigth, Switzerland had Killian Peier on the sixth place.
Denis Kornilov, who was degraded to the COC after failing to stay in the team for the Four-Hills, became 13th. Rank 16 went to Sebastian Colloredo, who had to cope with the same destiny. Also Gregor Deschwanden has to prove himself now and finished this race as 20th.
Besides Swiss Marco Grigoli, who suffered a foot injury with torn bones and ligaments during training, there were also bad news from the Austrian team:
All five members of the team – consisting of Florian Altenburger, Ulrich Wohlgenannt, Daniel Huber, Elias Tollinger and Clemens Aigner – were disqualified in the final round because their bibs have been too tight. Initially, one of them was asked to the equipment control and since it was discovered, all of them had to show their bib, which brought a disqualification for all of them. Sadly, they all would have been in the points, if this fault wouldn't have been made.
Anyway, the best fair man has won. Will this be the first step of the return to old fame for Tom Hilde? We will see, when the Continental-Cup continues in Wisla on the 10th of January. Until then have fun watching the Four-Hills-Tournament! All infos about it can be found in the new Online-Magazine about SkiJumping: At The Hills.
