We're proud to introduce our expert Lindsey Van (30) from Park City (Utah),
who is an important part of the US women's skijumping team! Without her passion and dedication women's skijumping wouldn't be as important a discipline as it is today!
She became World-Champion in women's skijumping in 2009- the first ever in this sport!
She has over 50 podiums in her international career and finished top ten in the overall regularly.
Additionally, Lindsey is 16-time National Champion!
By the way: Her longest jump is 171m, which is also the North American women's record!
Here's her statement about yesterday's qualification in Oberstdorf:
"The qualification was interesting yesterday. I didnt expect places 2,3,and 4 in the overall to skip the qualification with the KO system. Most likely all will make it to the next round with the lucky looser bracket, but that is still not certain. Hopefully that move doesn't cost someone like Ammann to get cut in the first round and not have a shot at the four hills title. Its risky, but adds to the fun of this competition. I think people should watch out for fresh younger athletes without much pressure. Like Sjoeen, Pungertar, Boyarintsev, Leyhe, Wenig, Forfang. I think some of these athletes will do very well today. The four hills is a very intense competition, so I think some athletes with less pressure and jumping well will do well. I think Schlierenzauer will win, Ammann 2nd, and Damjan third. I think Prevc, Kasai, and Stoch will all be competitive as well."
