Schlierenzauer takes the victory in windy Lillehammer!

Gregor Schlierenzauer wins the first World Cup in Lillehammer with jumps on 127.5m and 138.5m ahead of Anders Fannemel and Michael Hayböck.

Changing winds especially during the first round made the competition really difficult for both the jumpers and the jury. With a bit of luck and really good performance Gregor Schlierenzauer could win both rounds and celebrated his 53rd victory. Anders Fannemel ended up 3 points behind the Austrians and proofed again that he is in a good shape at the moment. Michael Hayböck on the 3rd Place showed the longest jump of the competition. With 141m in the second round he could overtake Daiki Ito who ended up 4th. On the 5th place with 125m and 137m the best Slovenian Peter Prevc missed the podium with just 4 points. The German of the day was Severin Freund. With a strong jump on 128.5m with a lot of back wind he could climb from the 18th place to the 6th. The whole German team had a really bad and unlucky day with just Freund and Kraus (14.) in the second round.

A very happy Paolo Bernardi could celebrate the best ever result of the Italian Davide Bresadola. Davide showed a really strong completion and ended up 9th after two jumps on 133m.

Unlucky fellow of the day was Junshiro Kobayashi from Japan. After a jump on 139m in the first round he crashed and gave away a really good result.

World Cup Leader Simon Amman was also very unlucky today with a jump on 119.5m he missed the second round on place 35.

With a strong second jump Noriaki Kasai could finish up 12th while has been 28th after the first round.
