Today will also be the opening of the ladies world cup season, and It also mark the return to the races for Sarah Hendrickson after a stop because of injury.

The Lysgårdsbakken looked perfect today,and there's not been any weather issues throughout the ladies competition

Daniela Iraschko-Stolz ended the first round in the first spot along with the Japanese champion, Sara Takanashi, and Russian Sofya Tikhonova, Tikhonova after the final round ended at 4th place. But the real star of the day is Spela Rogelj, which gave to the Slovenian team their first victory in the World Cup, and it was also Spela first victory as well. The slovenian ski jumper, was 4th in the first round with a jump of 93 meters, but in the end she has managed to climb on top of the podium with a final jump of 99 meters scoring 267.3, 1.1 point more than Iraschko-Stolz which is the runner up of the day, with Sara Takanashi 3rd. Sarah Hendrickson which made her return to the competitions today, finished 9th, improving also his first jump, (which was 89 meters in the first round) with a quality 96.5.

As for Italy only Elena Runggaldier has managed to qualify for the final round with 85.5 meters in the first round and jumped and 90.5 meters in the final round,ending the day at the 25th place. Today has been a very well balanced competitions between the ladies and we can’t wait now to see what the guys will be able to do, tonight in the qualification round which will start at 20:00 pm.
