Gorm Johansson: First comp in Ruka/ Kusamo is history.

Also today we had big differences with the wind and a lot of athletes where really unlucky. This is for sure quite often the condition, that we are used to up there in Lappland.

Today we also could see quite big differences in the inrun speed. It is for sure very important to have a really good feeling and be on the top level regarding the speed. but if you are unlucky with the wind, you will be without any chance at all. But all in all this was an ok comp to watch, without too many long breaks. When we look at the top ten, there are many good names, but I think this podium was quite nice. Amman could make it as No.1 with a really strong jumping. It has been some time since his last victory. So I think he is happy to be on top again. He can be a strong man this season. Ito on seccond was maybe a bit surprising. He made 2 strong jumps with nice flights and a good telemark. I like that.

So again the grand old man and legend Kasai made it to top 3. What can I say: It is just amazing to follow this man. He will for sure be strong this winter! Biggest surprise is for sure that Takeuchi-Kranjec-Loitzl-Schlieri-Kranjec and Hilde all were found between rank 20 and 30. It's not usual to find them there. I think also Bardal so far down on the list is not as I expected it. A new day tomorrov, and we will see what will happen. G.J. Dr Johann
