World Cup 2014/15 preview Consuelo Conte [KokkaMufc] 18 November 2014

Photo credits Consuelo Conte © Skijumpingitaly Here we are again, a new season is about to begin. We are only few days away from the ski jumping season.
Last year, has been a quite impressive one, beyond every single aspects. Olympics in Sochi, first time ever for the girls, to be allowed to take part at the Olympic Games, with Carina Vogt becoming the first woman to win a gold medal at this level. Kamil Stoch Olympic champion (in both competitions), and winner of the overall world cup table, after a fair battle against Peter Prevc, both trying to put their name on the crystal ball cup.
Germany gold medal in the team event, Noriaki Kasai making history, winning the bronze medal in Sochi at the tender age of 41! To not forget how the newcomer Thomas Diethart, imposed himself at the FHT.
But we've also seen, some of our favourites to hang up their boots, and start a brand new career (Bjørn Einar Romøren, marketing manager,Borek Sedlak which is now work at FIS), and somehow we all knew, that eventually we would have had to say goodbye to another great of this sport,Thomas Morgenstern (which after the two terrible crashes he suffered in the past season, the Austrian decided he wasn't in the right state of mind, to keep going with ski jumping).
To not forget that also Ilia Rosliakov,Takanobu Okabe,Fumihisa Yumoto,Binga Windmueller,Wendy Vuik, have all retired the past season.
Other than, the various goodbye's,we should also probably say, "Welcome" to the new rules that will be applied this winter in some part of the season. Here the link to the rules.
Not very into the new rules, as we had a bit of it in the summer, and to be fair these new rules, doesn’t seems to convince the majority of ski jumpers advocates.
Anyhow, this upcoming season it might turn to be a interesting one. World Ski Championship in Falun (SWE),Planica ski flying hills should be ready in time for the final part of the season.
Four Hills tournament, is always an exciting tourneè to attend or watch.
The question is, Will Kamil Stoch be able to repeat himself? Will Peter Prevc finally make it? Will,Gregor Schlierenzauer return at the top of the table? These are the main names we are expecting to hear the most. All we can do is waiting few more days, and see what this year will bring to us. That said, enjoy you all this upcoming winter season.
