Stjernen, Sjøen, Hilde: Norwegian party in Courchevel

15/08/2014 20:35 Three athletes in the top-4: a remarkable loot for the Norwegian team in Courchevel, third round of the 2014 Summer Grand Prix. Andreas Stjernen takes his first SGP career win with young teammate Philip Sjøen just behind him.

Sjøen scored the best jump of the competition in the last round, with 130.5 meters. Tom Hilde scores a fourth place finish and confirms his special relationship with this hill, where he scored six top-10 results in the last six years.

Kamil Stoch manages to close on the podium (3rd) and carries on his quest for the yellow bib. Stjernen and Peter Prevc (8th today) take the overall leadership ex-aequo with 168 points. Former leader Piotr Zyla did not reach the last round and closed 27th; the Polish is now four points from the top (164).

The German speaking trio of Michael Hayböck, Andreas Wellinger and Stefan Kraft takes fifth, sixth and seventh place, while Roman Koudelka and a solid Daniel Andre Tande complete the top ten. Robert Kranjec is eleventh ahead of Daniel Wenig and Junshiro Kobayashi (who was fifth after the second round and "fell down" with the last jump, as he did last weekend in Einsiedeln). Anders Fannemel, the fifth Norwegian, is 15th, just behind Jernej Damjan.

First season points for an Italian athlete: Sebastian Colloredo earns three points with his 28th place finish.
