Can a fourth place in one World Cup competition make anyone a legend? Of course it can! That day became one man a national hero, which won’t be forgotten! Poland has its new legend and Adam Malysz has an successor. Ladies and gentlemen, Kamil Stoch, the winner of the World Cup.

The way to this victory wasn’t easy – he didn’t make it to the second round and finished 37. Kuusamo (10th place) and Lillehammer (20th and 18th place) weren’t bad, but it just wasn’t the top. Then the Titisee-Neustadt and Engelberg arrived, and it was some kind of a prediction how this season will end. Second and first place in Titisee and the same in Engelberg. Kamil was pretty excited before the Four-Hills Tournament. This year’s 4HT wasn’t the most successful for him. His ranks were thirteen, seven, three and eight – but Kamil was still first in the WC ranking. After the sixth and ninth place in Bad Mitterndorf came “the Polish tour” – two competitions in the country of Adam Malysz. This had to be a big challenge for Stoch, because of the excited fans under those hills. His second place in Wisla was cool for them, but the 17th position in Zakopane must have been a bit of shock… But the satisfaction was going to come soon!

Mühlenkopfschanze in Willingen was supposed to be the place where Kamil will get back to the top. With other two won competitions, the Polish number one travelled to Sochi. He hoped for TOP 5, but he won two gold medals! At this time, we wrote that Adam found his successor – and we didn’t know he is going to win some another competitions in Lahti and Kuopio! When we look at the graph (source: Berkutschi.com), we can see a slow progress since 2004. But Kamil Stoch made it, he won the World Cup, became unforgettable, became a national hero, “the next Adam Malysz”. Everything what the whole world can say is: CONGRATULATIONS, KAMIL!
