Thomas Morgenstern season is over
24/02/2014 18:09

Thomas Morgenstern 2013/2014 season has now officially over, the 27 year old has announced today via his media managements , his intention to end earlier the season and focus on what it will be his sporting career future. "It's nice to be back home again. I spend a lot of time with my little daughter, then everything else is not important anymore. My health is now the priority, my goal is to recover and continue the therapy. The past weeks emotionally very intense for me. Now I want to come to terms with the experiences and arrange my thoughts. That's why I decided to not take part in the rest of the competitions this season" The austrian ski jumper had a great star of the season, and along Stoch and Prevc was one of the candidates to win the crystal ball this season, but after his two dangerous fall, in the month of January (two falls in two weeks) Morgi didn’t come out of this with the right state of mind. "Considering what happened before, the Olympic Games were wonderful for me. I'm happy and grateful that my dream came true and I enjoyed every minute. I did my best until the very end, improved step by step and my last jump in Sochi was my best one there. The silver medal is worth more than Gold for me and will get a special place at home." We are sure now Thomas now will try to figure it out what it’s best for him, if staying in a world where is loved and adored by his fans and none, or give it a go and try to find a new path in his sporting career. True is if Morgenstern will decide to retire he will certainly going to be missed. "Ski jumping is my life and I still want to jump. It was a very exhausting time. Now I have to come to terms with what happened, so I can make this decision with a clear mind. I will take my time, so I can intensively work on the continuation of my career." We - as everyone else- can only wish to Thomas Morgenstern to take the right decision for himself but with the hope to see him again competing at the hills next season. Consuelo Conte [@KokkaMufc]
