Manuel Fettner takes victory in Brotterode!

(Manuel Fettner, SkiJumpingItaly 2013 (c) Kathrin Müller) Austria's Manuel Fettner took the second in this season Continental Cup victory and definitely was the best in Saturday's competition in Brotterode. After the first round 28-year-old team World Champion from Val di Fiemme was third, but thanks to weaker jumps of his rivals he managed to move up to first place and win ahead Friday's winner and the leader after first round Karl Geiger from Germany.

Fettner gave two good jumps on a distances of 112,5 and 109,5 meters and moved in the Continental Cup overall standings to the second place. Second was young representative of the hosts Karl Geiger, who jumped 111,5 and 108 meters and to the winner he lost only 1,3 points. Third place with distances of 118,5 and 111,5 meters went to another Austrian Daniel Huber for which this is the biggest success in his career.

Just behind the podium of the second of three planned CoC competitions in Brotterode finished Matjaž Pungertar and Atle Pedersen Rønsen. Slovene gained in his jumps 114 and 108,5 meters. Representative of Norway moved from sixth to fifth position thanks to jumps on 113 and 109,5 meters. After very weak jump in the first round from 16th to the 6th position moved representative of Poland Klemens Murańka with 107- and 112-meters results. From the ninth to seventh position moved another Austrian Elias Tollinger, who jumped 113,5 and 111,5 meters. Eight place took Jan Mayländer from Germany, who defended his position from the first round with jumps on 113,5 and 108 meters. The Top 10 of the competition was closed by representatives of Austria and Czech Republic. Markus Schiffner was 9th with jumps on a distances of 111 and 115,5 meters and Čestmír Kožíšek was 10th with 108,5- and 112,5-meter results.

In the Continental Cup standings the leader is still 21st in Saturday's competition Nejc Dežman from Slovenia with total number of 625 points. Second is Austria's Manuel Fettner with 507 points and third is Karl Geiger with 479 points.
