Kamil Stoch wins gold medal on the LH men event in Sochi!

Jan Ziobro, Maciej Kot celebrate Kamil Stoch after the polish ski jumper secured the gold medal on the LH event in Sochi.
Large hill men competition was finally here, and today we've had all the pleasure to watch the ski jumping men competition from the LH, not that the ones from the normal hill are not amusing, but it's a total different story when it comes to the big hills.
Of course the top ten ski jumpers have proved themselves also on the small one, with Kamil Stoch winning the gold medal. I can actually tell you that i haven’t enjoined a ski jumping race as much as i did today, with the best Olympic podium by far. A silver medalist which at the tender age of 41 made it history! I don’t even know where to start, except that wind conditions today has almost killed off this race, and i wouldn’t want to miss it for nothing in the world, so i have been lucky that FIS decided to go ahead! -Thank you FIS!-

Kamil Stoch vote 10+:

The polish ski jumper since he broke through the ranks, -when Adam Malysz still was in the team and was the main man- has always had his path marked very well, everybody knew he was a pure talent, but there has always been something that kept him to do the next step, that one that will change your way to live your sporting life forever. I guess that change somehow happened in Val di Fiemme, where Stoch won from the LH the gold medal at last year NSWC. The same place where 10 years before another polish - Malysz- became world champion. Since Val di Fiemme, Stoch, is like if he has finally put all the “pressure” and combined with his enormous talent together, and never stop, he won 4 world cup races (6 in total with the OG) this year, and he is the leader of the overall world cup table ahead of today’s bronze medalist Peter Prevc. An interesting final season is ahead of us! Stoch has also become the third ski jumper to win in both competition at the Winter Games. The first has been Matti Nykänen with 5 gold medals, and Simon Ammann with 4 gold medals, but he might end to be the one to win all three races with the team event as well. Noriaki Kasai 10++:

I am beyond happy for Nori, this guy at the tender age of 41 has become the “oldest” athlete to win a medal at the Olympics - since today this record was owned by another living legend,Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, gold medalist in Biathlon at the start of these Winter Games- .
Kasai which ended on the podium a few times this year, has had so far an amazing season and could end in a gold way on Monday in the team event, where Japan can fight for the gold against a very strong Slovenia above all! I don’t know what else to say about Kasai that haven’t been said yet. We already spoke about how brilliant he is especially at 41, he showing and at the same time teaching, that if you truly want to succeed you can do that not matter what’s your age is! Peter Prevc 9++:

Peter Prevc, my goodness, he has also switched on the button along with Kamil Stoch since Fiemme 2013, where the Slovenian ski jumper won a silver medal on the LH and two bronze medals on the NH and team event at last year NSWC.
Since then, Prevc grown strong and he is now fighting against the two times Olympic champion Kamil Stoch for the crystal ball.
One thing i appreciated about Prevc today, was him pointing Kasai to the cameraman while they were waiting for the results, he in fact paid his own respect to someone who is clearly loved by everyone in ski jumping world. When you see champions like this, in competitions like that out there, well to me they are all gold medalist, because they all put effort where others sometimes don’t, living by too much in a drama. Is this Simi last Olympic adventure?

Many ski jumping fans, do have their favorites and i do have mine, one of them, is and always will be Simon Ammann, and as much i don’t mind the winner of this year winter games, i am a bit sad for Simi, which could have strike another record by winning 6 or 5 Olympic medals, but i think 4 is a good number too. He said before that these would have been his last Olympics, but if Kasai have made it until Sochi and announced that he wants to take part to the 2018 next Olympic Games in Korea, i hope that Ammann will overcome his choice and decided to go ahead and continue to jump, for others four years. After today i think we can all go to bed happy because this was the ideal podium that everybody wanted to see.
