The "Stoch shock" strikes again in today's training

14/02/2014 18:22

The quialifying session is underway in a few minutes and Kamil Stoch, who is already qualified, has once again set the best score in the trainings with a 136m jump (82.9 points). Severin Freund is just one meter shorter but 5.4 points behind, while third place went to Marinus Kraus (133m, 74.9 points).

Peter Prevc in fourth place is a non-surprise, but Simon Ammann and Gregor Deschwanden actually are. The two Swiss are 5th and 7th, with Michael Hayboeck in between. Janne Ahonen, Anders Bardal and Anssi Koivuranta close the top-10.

Gregor Schlierenzuer is 11th and doesn't seem to be competitive for a medal, as well as his team mate Thomas Morgenstern (15th). Noriaki Kasai chose not to jump and many top athletes are in the middle/lower part of the ranking, not at all helped by the wind, so it'll be necessary to wait and see their real potential.
