Ladies trainings on HS 106 in Sochi
11/02/2014 19:12
Kamil Stoch celebrated yesterday his victory on HS 106, but we are not finished with this hill anymore! Ladies are going to have a competition tomorrow, so they trained hard today to get used to this normal Sochi hill. The best training jumps showed Daniela Iraschko – Stolz and of course Sara Takanashi.
Japanese number one Sara Takanashi shows her strength on the normal hill – she jumped 101 meters in the first training and won – ahead of Helena Olsson Smeby (99m) from Norway. The third place belongs to Daniela Iraschko – Stolz (100m), the fourth one was Julia Kykkänen (100m) from Finland. Another Japanese, Yuki Ito, was ranked five for her jump 100 meters long. This round was successful for Italian Evelyn Insam (6th place) or Taylor Henrich (7th place) from Canada
The second round won Daniela Iraschko for 101,5 meters – and this distance was the longest distance for today. The biggest candidate for the gold medal Sara Takanashi (100,5m) was second and Slovenian Maja Vtič (99,5m) third, so she didn’t take part in the third round. The same situation for fourth Helena Olsson Smeby (99m). Julia Kykkänen finished the TOP 5 with 98 meters.
The third training was directed again by Sara Takanashi – she jumped 101,5m. Carina Vogt from Germany reached the hundred-meters line, the third one was Austrian Iraschko – Stolz (99m). Yuki Ito has a big chance to win the medal, too – she jumped 98 meters in training number three. Another good performance – 96 meters -was shown by fifth Evelyn Insam.
Sarah Hendrickson can get back to her old shape after the comeback – she jumped “only” 79 and 88 meters today. Who was looking forward to a big “Sara(h) battle” could be disappointed, because Hendrickson won’t probably be the medal-fighter tomorrow. But instead of it, we can look forward to the “Sara-Daniela fight!”
