Stoch beats Freund in Willingen

The fans under the hill have seen very long jumps today. The victory belongs to Kamil Stoch – he was second after the first round (139,5m), but the second round made he better than Jurij Tepeš and he won by jump 145,5 meters long. The second one was Severin Freund – the German wasn’t in a perfect shape this year, but jumps 139 and 147,5 meters proved that he deserves the second place. The third place was Slovenian – Jernej Damjan has the shape of his life and he jumped 141,5 and unbelievable 150,5 meters! Noriaki Kasai was rank 4, his performance was 142 and 140 meters. After Japanese ninja we have there another three Slovenian jumpers – fifth Robert Kranjec (140,5 and 150 meters!), seventh Peter Prevc (138 and 145,5m) and finally sixth Jurij Tepeš. He was in lead after the first round, because he jumped 152 meters with an awesome telemark, so he holds the Willingen record (together with Janne Ahonen)! The second round wasn’t as good – it was “only” 137m, so he is on the sixth place. What about other jumpers, who must be satisfied after today? We have there Anssi Koivuranta on place 17, Reruhi Shimizu on place 24, 26th Alexey Romashov or 29th Andreas Stjernen. On the other hand, Simon Ammann was 33rd and it is not a good message for Swiss team before the Olympics. Hope he’ll do better tomorrow!
