Takanashi and Bogataj are the queens of trainings in Hinzenbach

Only 47 athletes are going to take part in tomorrow’s ladies World cup competition. That’s the reason, why we weren’t able to see the qualification today. We just saw the three rounds of training - two rounds won Sara Takanashi and the third one was won by Urša Bogataj from Slovenia.

Only two jumps were 90 meters long or longer today. Sara Takanashi won for 90 meters; the second one was Daniela Iraschko-Stolz (90,5m). The third place belongs to another Japanese athlete Kaori Iwabuchi for 85,5m; fourth one was well-experienced Italian Evelyn Insam for 82,5 meters. The fifth place is occupied by Julia Kykkänen (82,5m) from Finland.

The second training round was more difficult for all of the athletes because of the back-wind. First jumper was Sara Takanashi (84,5m) again. The second one was her teammate Yuki Ito (83m), the third one Julia Kykkänen for 82,5 meters. Under the podium was Italian again, thanks to Elena Runggaldier (80m). Rank five belongs to Anna Ruprecht for 82 meters.

Urša Bogataj from Slovenia was surprisingly the first one in training no.3. Her performance was 89 meters. Second place belongs to Daniela Iraschko-Stolz (84m) and third to another Slovenian Maja Vtič for 86 meters. Yuki Ito finished fourth for 82 meters-long jump. The fifth one was Chiara Hölzel (86,5m).

What can we expect on Saturday? The first round of the competition could be a chance for non-top athletes to get to the points. Of course we can expect a duel between Takanashi and Iraschko as well.
