First COC-Victory for Nejc Dezman

In far away Sapporo the Slowenian could set his first COC victory in the winter round. With jumps on 96m and 88m he could win ahead of Danny Queck and Gregor Deschwanden who shared the second place. With 99m Deschwanden made the longest jump of the competition. On the 4th place just 0.5 points behind the German and the Swiss Simen Key Grimsrud missed the podium only just. Pius Paschke who was on the Podium in Courchevel completes the Top 5 with 228.5 points. The finnish team could place two athletes in the Top 10. With a shared 8th place of Universiade-winner Sami Niemi and Sami Heiskanen. Austrian of the day was David Unterberger on the 7th rank, right behind the best Japanese Shusaku Hosoyama. The competition was really close as the winner and the 10th place athlete Jakub Kot are just seperated with 10 points. A close and good team performance was again done by the Germans who could place all athletes, except Jan Mayländer, in the Top 15. Also the Norwegians with three athletes in the top 16 and the Swiss team with three athletes in the scoring ranks showed a solid team performance. Austria could just bring one athlete in the Top 30 which really could be seen as a disappointment and also the Slovenian team performance was not so good as it was in the competitions before. The best Slovenian after Dezman was Mitja Meznar on Rank 13. A bit surprising was the result of the young Romanian Sorin Iulian Pitea who made his second best COC result ever on the 24th place. 1. Nejc Dezman 235.0 2. Danny Queck 231.5 2. Gregor Deschwanden 231.5 4. Simen Key Grimsrud 231.0 5. Pius Paschke 228.5 6. Shusaku Hosoyama 227.5 7. David Unterberger 226.5 8. Sami Heiskanen 226.0 8. Sami Niemi 226.0 10. Jakub Kot 225.5
