Robert Kranjec wins the qualifications in Bad Mitterndorf!

In the qualifications for the individual competition in Bad Mittendorf the best turned out to be representative of Slovenia Robert Kranjec. Slovene jumped on distance of 194.5m and this try gave him the victory in today's qualifications. Behind him was ranked his compatriot Jurij Tepes, who also showed good performance on the hill by giving a jump on a distance of 192 meters. Third place took Czech Antonin Hajek, who performed well today and soared a distance of 186 meters. Right behind the leading trio were classified representatives of the hosts - Wolfgang Loitzl, who finished fourth with his jump on 189 m, Michael Hayboeck, who took fifth position (187m) and Stefan Kraft, who finished sixth (188.5m). In the seventh position were ranked Pole Maciej Kot (186m) tied with Norway's Rune Velta (187.5m) and the Top 10 closed Robert Johansson (177.5m) and Jan Matura (184m). The best of the pre-qualified ski jumpers was Peter Prevc. Slovene gave today amazing jump on 188 meters. He was followed by Swiss Simon Ammann (187.5 m)and two Poles - Piotr Zyla (186m) and Jan Ziobro (183,5m). Kamil Stoch and Noriaki Kasai did not take part in today's qualifications. Bad fall for Thomas Morgenstern!
Unfortunately in the competition we won't see Thomas Morgenstern, who during the one of the training rounds terribly crashed and now is treated in a hospital in Salzburg. Morgenstern suffered a serious cranial injury and a lung contusion. We wish him a very fast recovery! ° Quick update: Here the first official medical news about Thomas Morgenstern. " Thomas Morgenstern was rushed to the hospital in Salzburg with a serious head injury and a pulmonary contusion. The athlete is conscious and able to talk. However, will remain in intensive care for the next 72 hours.The next update on the health of Morgenstern will be communicated via a medical bulletin on Monday 13 January, at 09.00 am."
