4HT in Innsbruck: Victory for Anssi Koivuranta!

25-year-old Finland's Anssi Koivuranta, who in the past won the World Cup in nordic combined, took today his first World Cup victory in ski jumping. Unfortunately due to difficult weather conditions jury decided to end today's competition on Bergisel after first round. Anssi Koivuranta phenomenally jumped 132,5 meters and with a total note of 127,5 points won ahead of Simon Ammann (133,5m) and Kamil Stoch (126,5m). Just behind the Top 3 was placed Gregor Schlierenzauer, who jumped 131,5 meters. In fifth place was classified his compatriot and leader of the Four Hills Tournament - Thomas Diethart, who advanced to the final as a lucky loser after the jump on 126.5 m. In the Top 10 of the competition were also 6th Peter Prevc who jumped 128 meters, 7th Noriaki Kasai who jumped 126 meters and is fourth in the overall 4HT standings, 8th Thomas Morgenstern with a jump of 119,5 meters, 9th place took young representative of Finland Jarkko Maeaettae who jumped on a distance of 125,5 meters and the best ten closed Denis Kornilov from Russia with a 128-meter result. In the overall standings of the Four Hills Tournament the leader is still Thomas Diethart (716,1), ten points behind him is Simon Ammann (706,7) and third is Thomas Morgenstern (700,7). To the end of the 62th edition of this prestigious tournament lasts one competition in Bischofshofen.
