Sara Takanashi wins in Hinterzarten!

Behind us there is first of two planned competitions of Ladies' World Cup in German Hinterzarten. Today the rivalry dominated Japanese Sara Takanashi who won with over 14 point advantage ahead of Daniela Iraschko-Stolz and Irina Avvakumova.
Young, but very talented Japanese ski jumper proved that she is in good shape by giving today two good jumps on 101 and 105 meters and with a total note of 266,8 points beating experienced Austrian ski jumper Daniela Iraschko-Stolz who jumped today 101 and 99,5 meters. Third place took the best of Russian ski jumpers Irina Avvakumova (98,5 and 101m) for which this is the best result in her career.
Just behind the Top 3 the competition finished Helena Olsson Smeby with jumps on a distance of 94,5 and 99 meters and Maja Vtic who jumped 97 and 94m. 6th place went to Yuki Ito (95 and 97,5m), 7th was Carina Vogt (97 and 95,5m), 8th was Ema Klinec (94 and 97m), 9th was Lindsey Van (94,5 and 98,5m) and the Top 10 closed Jessica Jerome (94 and 95m).
The representative of Italy Manuela Malsiner had problems with landing in the first round of the competiton - she touched the landing area with her back and her head. But it was not a serious crash, so she was able to leave the outrun on her own, but later she was taken to the hospital for some examitations. Luckily it appeared, that she did not suffer any injury and she could come back to hotel.
Tomorrow in Hinterzarten will be held the second competition of the Ladies' World Cup cycle. In the current overall World Cup standings the leader is Takanashi with 200 points, Iraschko-Stolz is second with 160 points and third is Vogt with 86 points. By Anna Sobol (AnneAZS)
