Hello everyone here we are again, only few days away from Christmas, which means, this is a Swiss weekend in ski-jumping, more precisely, Engelberg weekend with the qualification round from the HS 137. The qualification have taken place under a not so heavy snowfall, which despite the conditions, have left the athletes able to jump with no problems at all. In fact we can genuinely say, that these quali went away very smoothly.
Today’s winner is the former 4HT champion, Wolfgang Loitzl (AUT), which have jumped over the HS with 138 meters, scoring 145.4 pts, leaving the young polish Klemens Muranka at the second place with 134.5m/ 144.6 pts. Third place for another Austrian, Thomas Diethart with 135m / 142.4 pts.
Good day for Italy:
Today was also a good day also for Italy, which have managed to qualify all three is ski jumpers for tomorrow competition. The best amongst the Italians was, Roberto Dellasega, which have ended the qualifications at the 9th place 135m / 139.5 pts. It looks like that also for the Italian team things are getting better, in terms of results, with Davide Bresadola still the main man inside the azzurri team.
Huge blow for Finland:
If one nation (Italy) manage to qualify all is athletes for the tomorrow’s event, another fail. Finland has in Janne Ahonen the only man to compete for tomorrow’s event. The 36 year old, at his second comeback in ski jumping, is slowly coming back at his best form, and missed last week podium, finishing at the 5th place behind Noriaki Kasai (4th).
