Biegun's triumph closes the Universiades

After more than a week of competitions, today's individual LH competition represents the last chapter of the 2013 Winter Universiades in what concernes the schedule of ski jumping. Krzysztof Biegun won the gold medal after closing the first round on top and, to be honest, this makes no surprise. On the other hand, though, Poland didn't show a dominant team performance: Aleksander Zniszczol is 8th, followed by Bartolomiej Klusek, while Andrzej Zapotoczny finishes 16th, Jakub Kot 23rd and Stanislaw Biela 25th. Biegun earns his second gold medal, raising his total to three. Second place goes to one of the stars of this Universiade, the Finnish Sami Niemi (a gold and two silvers are his achievents), and Junshiro Kobayashi is third. 1.1 points behind is the unexpectedly competitive Matic Benedik. Mikhail Maksimochkin couldn't increase his loot, but the fifth place witnesses his great shape. Another Russian picked up a good result, Alexander Sardyko, who finished seventh preceded by the Czech Cestmir Kozisek. Tenth place goes tu Yumo Harada, ahead of Gasper Bartol, Ossi-Pekka Valta and Daniel Huber, once again the most competitive Austrian as David Unterberger, Clemens Aigner and Lukas Müller did not go over 19th, 20th and 24th position. Fourteenth is Miran Zupancic, followed by the first of the two Italians, Alessio De Crignis, while Michael Lunardi showed a very impressive first jump and achieved a positive 22nd place. The top-30 sees also Mitja Meznar 17th ahead of Tobias Bogner, Shotaro Hosoda 21st, Minato Mabuchi 26th, Alexander Shuvalov 27th, Gasper Martincic 28th, Rok Zima 29th and Roman-Sergeevich Trofimov 30th.
