I never been a fan of him and his “arrogance” as i think some of you who know me better, might know by now, but when someone thinks of you that you are an arrogant, it’s because most of the times these people can afford to be “arrogant”.

Gregor has always gave me this impression, of being an arrogant guy, but behind this, there is lot more, there is hard work, courage, determination to be the best and break all the records, as he actually did the past season, by surpassing such a legend as Matti Nykaenen.

Today in Lillehammer was Gregor’s second competition of the season, -after the famous decision to not jump in Klingenthal- and it also marked his 52nd single victory.

As much as we don’t sympathize for a certain athlete, when numbers like this are on the table, no one can deny the immensity of his talent, not even the ones which doesn’t like him.

Gregor today showed off his qualities also on the NH in Lillehammer.

Usually we see the Austrian reaching long distances from the LH’s, but today he did well also on the NH, where he finished the day ahead of Taku Takeuchi from Japan (second podium for the Japanese after the victory reached in the MT the day before) and Richard Freitag from Germany.

Gregor has scored 288.5 pts with the japanese been left behind by just 5.0 pts, and 8.2 distance pts from the german.

Schlierenzauer apart, is “shocking” to see how many germans made it into the top 20, SEVEN athletes for Germany into the first 20 places.

The best amongst the norwegian, was Anders Bardal with a 4th place, while for the polish was M.Kot with 5th behind the norwegian.

I have ran out of words, for Noriaki Kasai, which at 42 has finished the day at the 10th place ahead of people like Kofler, Ito, Ahonen.

There’s not much people can say about Kasai, except for he is a legend for this sport and the effort he put in it year after year.

Janne Ahonen ended the day at the 13th place but is a good result for Janne which is at his second back in ski jumping.

From this year we also have other than our usual recaps a special comments from expert about ski jumping.

Today we have the pleasure to have Massimiliano Ambesi, Eurosport commentator to lead the expert comment!

A deserved victory for Schlierenzauer because he was skilful in the first series to take advantage of favorable wind conditions, optimizing the best performance of his jump. In the second series, however, he has found a stronger back wind rather than his opponents, but has been able to stay close to Freitag and Takeuchi. At this time, he still missing a bit of technical stability, but there are no doubts he is already way ahead of the condition rather than expected.Today's victory is significant because Schlierenzauer after Nykaenen, Goldberger and Felder became only the fourth ski jumper in history to win at least three World Cup races on every hills (NH, LH, FH).
