(Kamil Stoch) SkiJumpingItaly 2013 - (c) Kathrin Müller
As for some reason many expected another German win in the Swiss village Einsiedeln. But they have been disappointed by the talent of Kamil Stoch from Poland, who has managed to finish ahead of Maciej Kot and the young Andreas Wellinger, winner of the last two races in a row.
Stoch (with two jumps of 116 and 133 meters) has scored a total of 263.7 pts, only a 1.4points difference from the runner up Maciej Kot, whio had two good jumps as well with a first one of 111.5 and the second of 114m (262.3points). As for the young German Andreas Wellinger has placed himself on the third place with 5.3 pts difference from the first place (114.5/114m).

(Maciej Kot) SkiJumpingItaly 2013 - (c) Kathrin Müller
Both Poland and Germany as already mentioned here a few times, have been the only ones to show some good results with other nations struggling a bit too much during this summer of competitions. The Norwegian team that has had not a good start this summer, has found in Rune Velta their best result of the day with a 14th place for 107 and 110m. Alex Stoeckl said they will now have a training camp in Stams (AUT) in order to prepare the winter season at the very best.
But on the other hand, we saw another top ten result for the Finnish champion Janne Ahonen, who ended the Swiss weekend on the 6th place of the table with 254.5 pts (110/11m), while another good result came from yesterday's birthday boy Denis Kornilov. He has finished the day with 257.7points on the ahead of Ahonen. Third after the first round, Richard Freitag lost his rank on the podium by 0.4points and finished as fourth (112/115m; 259.4points).

(Simon Ammann) SkiJumpingItaly 2013 - (c) Kathrin Müller
For the “home” hero Simon Ammann there was a seventh place with 253 points. His teammates got the places 18 (Gregor Deschwanden) and 29 (Pascal Egloff). Nice to see that all Swiss jumpers could come into the final round.
The top ten was completed by Michael Neumayer (110.5/110m), Roman Koudelka (110/111m) and Taku Takeuchi (111/110m).
Czech jumper Cestmir Kozisek reached his best SGP- result on rank eleven. He got the chance to replace Jan Matura, who will take some time off during the summer now.
Jan Ziobro, qualification winner of Courchevel ended up on place 15 and gets more self-confidence for his performance in this SGP.
Next stop of the SGP for the men will be in Hakuba, Japan next week!
