The Norwegian Anders Jacobsen had a fall in Planica at the end of the previous season and suffered an ACL rupture. Now he underwent surgery in Oslo.
On Tuesday the 28-year-old underwent surgery, which was done by Lars Engebretsen, at the Ulleval Hospital in Oslo. The surgery was successful and the Norwegian could already leave the hospital again.
“The surgery went well. It was a standard ACL surgery and no further damages were diagnosed during the operation”, Engebretsen is quoted on skiforbundet.no.
The fifth of the Overall Worldcup of the previous season will be able to start physical therapy soon. In spite of that, he will need a long break from ski jumping. “Normally it takes about six months before you can start again in a sport like ski jumping”, the doctor said in a previous interview.
Of course we wish Anders Jacobsen all the best and a quick recovery :)
