Harri Olli announced comeback
30/03/2013 08:48
As the Finnish ski jumper Harri Olli announced on a press conference on Tuesday in Helsinki, he is working seriously for a comeback into the Ski Jumping World Cup in the next season.
Last September the 28-year-old was participating in the Finnish National Championships but his first try to come back failed for various reasons. According to Olli himself, he also had to take a time-out from the training due to a disease.
That the Finn is taking his second comeback seriously shows the fact that he has already found some sponsors. In future he will receive financial support from an online casino.
“My goal is to be successful”
According to the Finnish media the Vice World Champion from Sapporo in 2007 proclaimed that he is working towards to be a part of the Finnish team at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014. “My goal is to be successful and not to fool around. I want to do everything to be the best”, was Ollis statement on the press conference.
With Matti Nykänen back to the top of the world
Already in Tuesday afternoon, in brief after the press conference, the TV channel MTV3 announced that the most successful Finnish ski jumper Matti Nykänen would be willing to take the position as Olli’s coach. “I didn’t talk to him about it, yet. But of course I would do it”, the 49-year-old is quoted.
Apparently, the conversation between the two ski jumpers took place only a few hours later on the same day. For in the evening the channel MTV3 officially announced the future cooperation of the both Finns. “I am hundred percent sure Harri will be fighting again with the best of the world in one year”, Nykänen said optimistic.
After recovering from an infectious disease due to which the three time World Cup winner even had to stay in hospital for one week, he wants to devote himself fully to the training. At the moment, the power training should be in the foreground, before the 28-year-old is going to jump again.
Nykänen is hoping that he could train with his compatriot not only on jumping hills in Finland but also in Austria.
All in all, we can be curious, if Harri Olli actually will make his comeback and, if the cooperation with his compatriot Matti Nykänen will work :)
