This competition was really unexpectable. I don't think that someone could even imagine the results like this. The best in Oslo were two jumpers Piotr Żyła of Poland and Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria. They both earned 270.1 points. 3rd was Robert Kranjec from Slovenia with 266.8 points.

This is how the winners summed this competition up:

Gregor Schlierenzauer: "Winning at Holmenkollen is a really great thing. It was a great competition and my jumps were finally good. The analisys of my earlier jumps brought the results and I am where I am. Piotr's winning did not surprise me. He is a world-class athlete and he absolutely deserved to took his first WC victory." Piotr Żyła: "I have never expected, it has not even crossed my mind that I could win. But my jumps were much better than yesterday and I won. I'm happy with it. Gregor is a big jumper and it was fun to share the highest step of the podium together, he won so many times. For me it was first time and I hope not the last."

After first round Kranjec was a leader, 2nd and 3rd places belonged to the Poles Kamil Stoch and Piotr Żyła. Gregor Schlierenzauer was only 4th. In the final round Kamil Stoch did not keep the 2nd place. His coach Łukasz Kruczek decided to reduced the gate for him and this time it did not work good so finally Stoch ended at 4th place. It seems that in second jump Robert Kranjec did not handle the pressure and he took in the end 3rd place. Alexander Stoeckl's team showed really great performance in front of their own crowd. Four Norwegians finished in the Top 10! Anders Jacobsen was 5th, Anders Bardal was 7th, Tom Hilde was 9th and Andreas Stjernen finished at the 10th place. The best jumper from Germany was 8th Michael Neumayer. Richard Freitag can say about really bad luck, after his jump at 118.5m he dindn’t manage to perform in the second round and Severin Freund who ended 13th. Good 21th place took the only jumper from Estonia Kaarel Nurmsalu. Only jumper from Italy in Oslo was Roberto Dellasega but unfortunately he took 41th place. Well place from team Austria took 6th Wolfgang Loitzl. A positive is also that Andreas Kofler (28th) and Martin Koch (17th) after good jumps scored points. The rest of the Polish team also can be satisfied with their jumps - Maciej Kot ended at 11th place and Dawid Kubacki was 20th. For all Polish fans who came at the hill and watched the competition on TV the winning of Piotr Żyła was really special. Exactly in the same day in 1996 at Holmenkollen's hill his first winning got the Polish legndary jumper Adam Małysz. So they can say that it is a magic place for them. They have many great memories with Oslo and they like to came there. We can saw it and felt during the competition when they support every jumper as much as the hosts’ fans.

Next competition will take place in Planica. It is the last competition before the end of this season. So don’t miss it!
