Stoch wins in Kuopio as Schlierenzauer secured his second World Cup title

During yesterday quail, many things have happened, the most touching was probably to see Matti Nykänen giving the start to Gregor Schlierenzauer, as the new world record holder with single victories in the WC.Peter Prevc, was the one to win the qualifications followed by the Russian Denis Kornilov and Japanese Taku Takeuchi. The competition today has seen the ski jumpers dealing with not very great weather conditions, in fact the wind kept changing throughout the whole race.Gregor Schlierenzauer secured the second World Cup title of his career.Stoch is the winner of the day in Kuopio. Poland’s world champion Kamil Stoch, has won today’s race in Kuopio ahead of Daiki Ito and Severin Freund.The polish has had a very good first jump with 135 and while in the second round he jumped 129 meters for a final score of 268.1 pts.Stoch which has see himself being crown world champion in Predazzo at the past WSC, seems to have found self confidence again this season, and improved his jumps as well. Truth be told the whole polish movement this season has done a terrific job, Stoch was only the missing part in the first half of the season.Ito back on the podium.Daiki Ito is the one who has caught the eye of everyone at today competition, in fact the Japanese was one of the few who actually managed to put together two good jumps in not very easy conditions. With a 129 first jump and a second of 132 meters, Ito secured himself a place on today’s podium finishing 2nd ahead the german Severin Freund today third.Amongst the underdogs who caught the attention today, for sure one of them is Vincent Descombes Sevoie, the French as finished at the 14thplace today, best result of the season for him and for the French team.Jurij Tepes was the best of the Slovenian with an 8th place. Next stop will be in Trondheim on Thursday with the qualification round. [@KokkaMufc]
