The World championships has ended last weekend but ski jumping is not, with eight races left until the end of the season, this weekend ski jumpers will give battle in Lahti (FIN). Official training has seen the current world champion from the LH ,Kamil Stoch to get the longest jumps of the day with 135/132.5 meters. That is in fact a perfect the moment for the Polish team, after the gold medal won by Kamil Stoch and the bronze at the team event, the polish seems to be on fire to finish on – at least- the top ten for the upcoming races. Call them as favourite for tomorrow team event it would not be such a blasphemy, especially after the constant results from them and good jumps they shown so far. Zyla, M.Kot, Stoch they were the best ones in the team today to not forget to mention Mietus and Kubacki. If there have been any doubts at the start of the season about this team they have been all gone now. Finland is really into the dark. Since the finns were competing at home it was fair to imagine that they would have get better chance to do well on their home ground, instead like already happened this season, the finns has struggled to get more than two athletes for the competition on Sunday. Rumors are suggesting that the actual head coach will step down at the end of the season, open up to a new coach, - some has suggested Kojonkoski, some others Nikunen, others Väätäinen – but the true is, is all uncertain for the finnish team and the only thing which is sure so far is that this could be described as their worse season ever. Italy with up’s and down’s Italy is another team which has slightly started well the season with an unexpected podium in Lillehammer , in the mixed team event, but then again didn’t managed to progress in what might have been the real expectations. Having said that, Roberto Dellasega along with Sebastian Colloredo managed to qualified for the men event on Sunday, leaving Bresadola, and Morassi out of it. From what we have seen today, for tomorrow team event there will be big changes, for Poland to succeed, but is important to keep on mind that there is another team which has shown to be a good form, Japan. Japan has won the gold medal in the mixed team and today with the help of Takeuchi, Kasai – 40 and still going strong- Kobayashi, they are in a perfect shape to try to keep up with the victories. Slovenia, is another one which proved so much qualities this season, and let’s not forget that Norway might want some “revenge” after the issue in Predazzo, where from silver medalist they ended up 4th. What we all need to know is to expect a tough competition tomorrow and enjoy those last few jumps before the season is over at the end of the month. On the other news from today, Maximilian Mechler has won the CoC event in Vikersund (NOR) ahead of polish Jan Ziobro and team mate Marinus Kraus. Twitter (@KokkaMufc)
