Photo credits Kathrin Müller © Skijumpingitaly The 26-years old Norwegian jumped 103.0m and earned 121.3 points. It was enough to beat 2nd Taku Takeuchi and his own teammate Andreas Stjernen, who took the 3rd place. They both jumped 102.5m. It is the debut of 24-years old Stjernen in a World Championship and he has a big chance to take a good place in the competition. He continues his run of luck and showed that he is great also on the normal hills. The Italian jumpers have been showing good jumps on their home hill. The best in the quali was 11th Sebastian Colloredo. Andrea Morassi took the 20th place ex aequo with Czech jumper Lukas Hvala. The last host who got qualified is 34th Davide Bresadola. Unfortunately at the competition we won’t see Roberto Dellasega who was 42nd. The ski-jumpers from Poland showed that they are in really great shape. All athletes of head-coach Łukasz Kruczek were in top 10. Kamil Stoch who didn’t need to qualify also jumped well. It seems that they have a chance to fight for the medals - individual and also in the team.
In the qualification we could also see Thomas Morgenstern, who came back on the hill after his break for when he trained individually. The 27-years old Austrian will try to defend his title won two years ago in Oslo but with his actual jumps it will be difficult. He took the 19th place. The best jumper from team Austria was 7th Manuel Fettner ahead of Wolfgang Loitzl. The big, positive surprise was that the only ski jumper from Greece got qualified for the first round. Young Nico Polychronidis took the 39th placeafter a good jump, so he will be able to make his debut at the WSC.

The best jump from the pre-qualified was shown by Simon Ammann. He jumped 102.5m and proved that he can win a medal in the competition. The athletes who don't needed to qualify jumped from 10th gate. The whole rest from gate eleven.
