Feel Slovenia: This what people have felt at the past Juniors World Championships 2013
29/01/2013 17:58
The past weekend was all in the name of Slovenian national team at the Junior World Championships that were held in Liberec, Czech Republic.
In fact Slovenia has brought home three of the four gold medals -In the male race, Hvala was the winner, in the women's team competition and men's, Slovenia secured the gold, and a bronze medal in the women's ski jumping won by Katja Pozun.
That the Slovenian movement was rapidly growing we began to realize a few season ago,but at the Juniors this year Slovenia gave us yet another confirmation of what we all already know: Slovenia is growing visibly and is one of the national that teams like Austria, Norway and Germany, should fear in view of the upcoming Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme and also for next year Olympic Games in Sochi.
The growth of the Slovenian national team at 360° at both men and women.
A name above all this year, is the name of Jaka Hvala that from the beginning of the season to now has impressed several in WC, showing all his qualities even in Liberec where the 19 year -old, stood in front of the Polish ski jumper Klmens Muranka (Silver) and the Austrian Stefan Kraft (bronze).
All three protagonists of the podium did well also at this year 4 Hills Tournament where the same Kraft is finished on the podium (3rd place for him) in Bischofshofen.
In the women's races, has seen the young Sara Takanashi -which is also leader of the WC table - ahead of Evelyn Insam (Silver) and Katja Pozun (bronze).
The young Sara, who after the race would use words of praise for his rival, the American
Sarah Hendrickson, defining the American youngster " a role model" — a person to be taken as an example- .
As for the Azzurri no once else but Evelyn Insam could have be able to give Italy the chance to jump up on the podium and win a medal. In fact, counting even podiums (both in the mixed team event, and as single) this is the third podium of the season for the Bressanone, young lady.
Bronze for Pozun, is an additional observation on how Slovenian movement is growing, that goes from the female to the male sector.
-It's no a coincidence that on Sunday at Vikersund for the WC, the race was won by Robert Kranjec, one of the best when it comes to ski-flying.
Slovenia has also imposes in the team ladies tea event, leaving behind them France (Silver) and Germany (bronze).
As regards the men , gold medal we don’t need to say that it went to Slovenia, silver for Poland and bronze to
Germany. @KokkaMufc
