Atle Pedersen Rønsen chat a bit with Skijumpingitaly Hello, everyone as you can see SJI didn't stop with the interviews, we've had Kalle Keituri, Alexander Stoeckl, Bjorn Einar Romoren, now always for the Norwegian section is time to give a young promising star his space. So SJI decided to have a chitty-chat with the always smiling Atle Pedersen Rønsen.
-Atle really made a positive World Cup debut last year and like all the Norwegians been busy in the COC he did very well also there finishing 11th in the overall COC table-. Skijumpingitaly : First of all thanks Atle for your time, let's start with an easy question.
Did you recharged your batteries for the new season?
Atle Pedersen Rønsen : I had a nice holyday with great friend to recharge my batteries, and get some positive energies to be ready for the season. That was good after a long and cold winter.
SJI : Talking about last year, can you tell us how it was for you the past season; Especially how has been for you be part of the World Cup team?
APR : I started jumping good late summer 2011 and continued that when the snow came. The COC start was good 5 out of 6 comps top 3 and i got the ticket to the 4Hills. It's been my dream from i was little to be a part of the 4Hills and the W-Cup team. It was a great experience and I'm happy with what i did in Ga-Pa, B´hofen, Kulm, Zakopane and Sunday in Predazzo. The spirit in the W-Cup team is always high, and we enjoy every day, and having a lot of fun.
SJI : Do you wanna join them again, anytime soon?
APR : Im working everyday to take part in the W- Cup team this season, So for sure I will be a part of the team soon.
SJI : I read somewhere you suffering of diabetes, is that true?
APR : Yes i have diabetes, and as I know I'm the only ski jumper that suffering from diabetes. But I'm living and does the same as the rest, I only have to have control of my blood sugar all the time. Diabetes is only a way of living, and when you are having control its easy.
SJI : How you deal with the diet you guys must follow?
APR : I'm eating what is healthy and I know what I need all the time. So it's only makes me more fit and ready all the time.
SJI: How did started your passion for ski jumping?
APR : I stared jumping at the age of 5, and my parents drove me to the hill so i could try, and i loved it.
SJI: Tell us what do you expect from the next season, and what do you think about the new ski-jumping suits?
APR : I think this season will be good, I have never been more motivated and this fit. So I'm really looking forward to it. The new suits will only make the sport more fair and that's a good thing. The only thing is that they have to make the material soft and comfortable so we can wear it.
SJI: What is the thing you like most about being a ski jumper?
APR : I love the hard work every day, the kick of getting the feeling of flying, and seeing that the training is giving results. The spirit in the group. I don't have one thing i like, I like everything about being a ski jumper.
SJI: The fans, especially the girls...seems to be all so much passionate about the ski jumpers, what's your relationship with the fans?
APR : The fans are great, they are supporting and cheering all the time. It's great to know that someone is following and supporting. And that's why I'm always smiling.
SJI: Your goal for next season is.... ?
APR : To be a part of the Wcup team and be stabile top 20 in the Wcup, fight for a spot on the team to WSC in Val di Fiemme!!
