SJI: Hello Eelena, thanks for being with us again, ready for a new season start?

RE: Hello all! Yes i am moore than ready for the new season start and I’m glad to start again with the workouts.

SJI: How did you spend your time without training and competitions after the end of last season?

ER: I did some vacations and still practiced a bit of sports cause I really like sport.

SJI: Last year the girls have started a new journey with a new coach, Julien Eybert-Guillon, have you had a good approach to each others straight away?

ER: Yes, with Julien and Alessio (co-coach) from the first day we have found a good meeting point and also a very good atmosphere in our beautiful team.

SJI: Let's take a look a bit forward, what do you expect from next season? As you said before you already started with the training sessions, how are they progressing?

ER: Yes, we started again with training at the beginning of May. The next season is a very important season for us, we finally have the honor of having the World Championships at home, In addition to that, we also have the World Cup competitions, which are still very important.

SJI: How do you feel about the thought of participating at the World Cup at home, what are your expectations for that period of the season?

ER: I am very happy for the fact that we can compete at home ... I hope to arrive in February with the right shape, and also the results will come along with that. Other than to the form, you must also have some luck.

SJI: This summer there will be the first mixed race - a prelude to what will happen next February in Predazzo-what do you think of this competition? Excited at the thought of being one of the girls to team up with Sebastian and Andrea?

ER: Yes, I cannot wait. I think it's a really beautiful thing because we are never with guys at the same races. Surely there will be more public, and this makes me happy. The place to compete in that race will be official just before the competition itself, as we must deserve it, only the best two will participate.

SJI: What do you expect from next season?

ER: Definitely a better season than last. Last season we worked especially for this season. I really expect to jump better, and be stable and improve.

SJI: What was in the past season, or at least until now, the race that you liked most?

ER: If I’m not saying Oslo, I would lie, a race with a mass of people like this, including even my dad with the Val Gardena fan club, in the capital of the ski-jumping and with the greatest result of my career.

(Editor’s note: Elena was Silver in Oslo as already mentioned above)

SJI: What I personally like about ski jumping is the fact that all the teams seem to get along well together, you among the girls outside the national team -with whom you bound most? ER: In women's ski jumping is something that I think goes beyond the normal, we speak with all the girls, and when we play volleyball matches there are always girls of other nations also. I cannot say exactly which country I am more related, but I got along well with the French and the Americans.

SJI: There have been many changes in women's ski jumping, or better many milestones passed by all of you girls, what do you think should be done to improve if possible even more in this sport?

ER: Yes, every year there are things that change, starting from the suits, than the material and the numbers of races etc. This year they made the proposal to make the last race of the season in Oslo at Holmenkollen on the LH. We hope that the idea goes through and we can jump there too!

SJI: Describe yourself in three words to those, who follow you, and also ski jumping in three words.

ER: in just one word: indescribable.
