The Norwegian ski association just announced the COC-team for the upcoming season!

Seven jumpers made it into the highly discussed B-team of Norway!

There has been a lot of speculation, who will be one of the lucky ones to become a COC-jumper for Norway. Yesterday, Clas Brede Bråthen, Norwegian sports director, finally revealed, that there will be seven athletes jumping in the COC as the national team also consists of seven jumpers.

These are:

Vegard Swensen, Asker Skiklubb Anders Jacobsen, Ringkollen Skiklubb Ole Marius Ingvaldsen, Steinkjer Skiklubb Robert Johansson, Al südlichen IL Kenneth Gangnes, IL Kolbu Kameraden Atle Pedersen Ronsen, Eidsvold IF Johan Martin Brandt, Steinkjer Skiklubb

The Norwegian continental cup team managed to be the best B-team in the world in the last season. Bråthen believes, that the training programs planned can help the B-team to become at least as good as some world elite teams.

“We have two very good training groups in our A-and COC- group and have nominated 14 exciting jumpers. We saw, that in the last season, three or four jumpers of the COC-team also jumped in the WC. The goal for this season is to close the gap between the world’s best ski-jumper Anders Bardal and the rest of our athletes.”, says Bråthen.

“There are a lot of jumpers, who are in a challenger position in the team. They have good possibilities to try themselves in international competitions because they jump good and work hard.”

The season scheme for Anders Jacobsen is clear. “I will get a good shape and the plans look really good. The first goal is to qualify for the summer grand prix competitions.”, tells Jacobsen.

Sports chef Bråthen confirms, that there was a solid evaluation of Jacobsen: “There are many, who believed he belongs to the A-team. But we closely judged he should be in the COC-team. This is best for him to become one of the world’s best again.” He knows, that Anders Jacobsen has a high potential: “That is an exciting comeback!”
