As a football fans and in particular a Man United hardcore fan, when one of the guys calling the day it’s always a “tragedy” especially if they’ve been so important for the team to win medals. As someone who loves winter sport so much as well – in the specific Ski Jumping- and in Ski Jumping I found the right team to support. Norway! I don’t know maybe the red colour, the connection with United or simply because I’ve always been interested and fascinated by this country. Today a dear friend of mine at my reaction as fan -which was something like, crying, and astonishment. I couldn’t believe it at the news, she told me that the end of an athlete career is not like dying. True! No one would be so foolish to make such a bad comparison, but still for someone like me who see their favourite footballers or in this case ski jumpers hang up their boots, well it’s always a sad time. My question for you is…Is it right to be sad when one of your favourite athletes retires? Or is it childish or a “waste” of tears when he/she call the day?
