The Team Tour began today with the team competition, a competition won it by Norway at their second victory of the season as team.
Stoeckl’s side dominated the whole race from the start til the end.
this shouldn't be such a surprising result, Norway has proven throughout the season to be in a very constant shape.
Winning with 23 points of difference and leaving behind the nation who dominated the last 6 years must had gave a good feeling for the Norwegian guys, especially because soon in Vikersund will take place the Ski Flying World Championships.
A victory achieved with a different team -Fannemel and Velta weren't part of the team when Norway have beaten Austria in Harrachov-
even the final score is pretty much the same as the one scored in Harrachov, 993.7 then 999.2 today for Norway, 956.0 then 976.3 today for Austria. The good news for Norway haven’t finished yet, because Tom Hilde (who got injured at the 4HT) is coming back in Klingenthal.
At third place we find a very good Germany(963.7) who gave battle with Japan until the very end for a place on the podium.
Tomorrow will be a new day but another chapter of glory has been written by the Norwegian guys.
...and here what the norwegian head coach told us. -First of all well done for winning the second team competition of the season, hoow do you feel? I fell really good, because I know the things we are doing are paying off. We showed once again, that we can be the best team and that is our target. So this was a perfect day for us. -What catch everyone's eyes is the fact you acutally won two team races with two two different sides, how can you keep your guys so focused on the spot? I think the special thing is not to do anything special. We prepare like we do for a regular competition and I talk with the boys in the same way and just try to give them the self confidence they need to go out there and do it. -What did you said to the guys today before the race? We just talked about the technical details and I reminded them what it is all about, it's about staying in the process and not thinking about results or the others and they managed very well. -Tom will make his come back in Klingenthal, does this mean that some of the guys like Fannemel and Pedersen have to take a step back? We have already decided on that. Atle Pedersen Roensen will go back home and enforce the COC team for Holmenkollen. He had a very good period in World Cup but now it is time to give other athletes a chance and he understands that.
