Andreas Kofler: Photo Berkutschi.com It was so close but now Gregor’s dream of a grand slam at the 4HT is so far away, or better is gone for this year. The 21 year old was so close to complete his first grand slam dream at this year tournament, but everything have been ruined by the current WC leader and team mate Andreas Kofler. After a very positive first round (another tough one like in Garmisch last weekend where all the athletes were divided by a handful of points) the same happened today.

Taku Takeuchi, in Klingenthal: Photo by Kathrin Müller © Skijumpingitaly The Japanese jumpers keeps getting better and better. Very impressive performances in the last two races came from Taku Takeuchi 4th in Garmisch and 3rd today in Innsbruck and named for the second time Man of the Day, only Daiki Ito missed out a big chance with the second jump finishing today at 27th place. The poor results at this year's 4HT led Simon Ammann to the decision to go home and not take part in the last stage of the competition in Bischofshofen. Simi finished at 16th place today. It was all about a norwegian battle in Innsbruck today! Yesterday all six Norwegian qualified for today competition ended up to face each others in the first round this afternoon. Only Bardal, Gangnes, and Velta managed to go through to the second round and to be honest it hurts to see the former world record holder and the current one struggling so much, especially Evensen. Anders Bardal has once again finished in the top 10th with a very good 4thplace for him today and still few chances to win maybe the 4HT. But the real battle is now between Andi Kofler and Schlierenzauer….Kofler as shown today will give his very best to win again the tournèe and by the way he performed today it won’t be easy for Gregor, all the heat and pressure are now on his shoulders. Next and last stop will be in Bischofshofen.
