Welcome to heading north!

At the Hills funky.jpg

After the Nordic World Championships in Falun and taking a breath in their homebases the ski jumpers will now continue up north in Lahti and move to Trondheim afterwards!

We're excited to see the Finns compete on home soil and also look forward to Norway - meaning Trondheim and Oslo, where we will also see the ladies for the last time this season.

This week should have been a calm one for the circus but as always, there's happening a lot, when you don't expect it.

USA Ski Jumping, Women's Ski Jumping USA and ladies ski jumping in general mourns the loss of a woman, who fought hard for ladies ski jumping to be recognized as an official event in the Olympic Winter Games: Deedee Corradini. Our deepest sympathy goes out to her family and friends.

Next to that Nick Alexander let the world know that his knee is highly damaged after falling in the mixed team event in Falun - where he landed an amazing length but couldn't stand it. He'll undergo surgery and a long rehabilitation. We wish him all the best and a speedy recovery!

But also good news are connected to the USA: Wojciech Fortuna sold his medal to team Poland's sponsor 4F for 50.000€. As wished by him, the medal will be displayed in the sports museum in Warsaw. Nick Fairall receives 25.000€ for his rehabilitation and the other half of the proceeds goes to Natalia Czerwonka, who also suffered a back injury.

And last but not least: Slovenia held a national championship event this week seeing Peter Prevc win ahead of his brother Cene and Jaka Hvala. Spela Rogelj won the ladies race.

Besides, we'd like to throw a glance of the careers of Sarah Hendrickson and Janne Ahonen, rounded up by having a look at Lahti and the expectations for the rest of the season.

Enjoy the final month of the season with our new issue and some high-class ski jumping events!
