The favorites before the last period of the season

To the end of the World Cup season 2014/2015 left only 7 individual competitions. This year's battle for the overall triumph and the Crystal Ball is even more exciting, because there are still three ski jumpers, who can fight for the victory.

The current World Cup leader is Slovene Peter Prevc, who until today gathered 1265 points. The 23-year-old jumper who became the national champion on Tuesday won 2 World Cup competitions in this season in Sapporo and Vikersund. He can't be satisfied with the result of the World Championships, as he came back home without a medal, but he still has a huge chance to win the overall title. He was close to the triumph last year, but he lost the battle with the double Olympic champion from Sochi Kamil Stoch. This year he has two very good opponents behind - Austria's Stefan Kraft and Germany's Severin Freund.

This season is amazing also for 22-year-old Stefan Kraft, who won the 63rd Four Hills Tournament and got the individual bronze medal on the normal hill during the World Championships in Falun. Currently he has gained 1208 points and loses to the leader exactly 57 points. As a huge revelation of this season Austrian has an apetite to won his first World Cup winner title.

Third in the general classification is Severin Freund, who has 1163 points, but in the current disposition of the double gold medalist from Falun (gold on the large hill individual and in the mixed team competition on the normal hill) the 120-point difference isn't as huge as it seems. Severin Freund is the oldest of the leading trio, has a big experience and now is in his best shape. That makes him also the possible favorite for the victory.

The battle for the final victory is still open - there are 700 points to reach and mathematically there are still few more possible candidates like Anders Fannemel (who is currently 4th 1058 points) or Roman Koudelka (5th with 1021 points) for the World Cup winner title. One thing is certain - the Nordic and Slovenian part of the World Cup season will be exciting!
