Gorm Johansson: Willingen

Willingen 2015.

Willingen was quite busy on Friday: 2 training rounds, the qualification and competition in one day. The training rounds looked quite windy and as usual. Big changes with that wind. All in all the training look very promising with a lot of long jumps. The qualification was also with quite big changes because of the wind, but it went ok, I think, as it went on, I think, without big surprises. It was nice to see a legend back in business: Janne Ahonen was able to make it to the competition with a -what I think- was a medium jump from him. Was also nice to see Jurij Tepes in good shape and winning the quali. Then we had the WC competition: There were also differences with the wind during the 2 rounds. But all in all it was a nice comp to watch. Only the really long jumps were missing. After the first round we had an almost normal top 10 list. A small surprise was Rune Velta, who was in the top 3 after the first jump. Then the final round went on and Kamil Stoch showed his strong side and won the competition, ahead of Peter Prevec, who is very stable on the podium now. Severin Freund made a very strong last jump and made it to the podium. So no big surprises there. I also think Rune Velta made a good comp with a strong 4th place. All in all this was a good competition.
